Been playing one in arena for a while on my blade and soul account leveling between 32-38, getting to Gold. That means several skills weren’t open to me (such as 20% heal), in addition to not having enough points to spec things that we need. But here is what I’ve seen:
- Don’t hit into our counter (our 1). It’s very similar to Sin counter, where it has a 6s CD, we can move while using it, puts us behind you, and stuns you. The only thing is different is that Sins stealth. Also, if spec’d down the entire way, it’ll reduce the CD of our KFM stance SS by 3 sec (SS has a 12s CD). Also, if the SF is inflicted with “disables approach skills,” the only thing that will go off is the counter. The warp behind you and stun don’t go off. It’s super annoying when it happens to the SF.
- Waste our attacks. We have a large array of CC’s (KFM: 2 is a target stun/approach, 18s CD. 3 is an AoE stun, daze, or kb, 36/30/24s CD. 4 is a kd, 18s CD. FM: 2 is a linear AoE shove back, 24s CD, 3 is an AoE daze or kd, 30/36s CD, 4 is a target stun, 36s CD). That’s a lot of utility, but if you make us waste a majority of them and they’re all on CD, we don’t have much else.
- If you’re ranged, kite as much as possible, especially if you have an anti projectile skill like Veil. Our main ways of approaching you in KFM stance is our 2, Q/E if you’re within 8 meters, Iron Shoulder (F) if spec’d after using SS, and our 1 (counter). Otherwise, we’ll need to use FM stance. If you have anti projectiles then, then we’re kind of screwed unless we back off and wait for cooldowns to reset.
Blade and Soul Account: Further Advice
Soulfighters have 11 iframes in total in a sense.. Q/E/SS x2 (6) and then they have a 5 resist over 5 seconds.
Their ranged stance iframes are the same as a force master and their melee stance iframes are the same as a KFM (faster timings then kfm though).
Both Q/E from each stance have a 9 second cooldown and the SS for each stance has a 12 second cooldown. The 5 resists over 5 second has a 45 second cooldown and if specced will heal them 5% when activated.
Just let them dash around like usual and when they start glowing a gold/yellow color (as a sin) use your C to burn away their 5 resists (it’s the same as warlocks Z resist).
If they put their arms forward/upward and you see a neat particle effect start going up get away from them if you don’t have escapes as you will have a very bad day. A lot of people don’t generally know how to play SF right now but I like to slowly burn an enemies escapes and then catch them with my focus chi (power up mentioned above) and frost storm. If done right they can take 70% of your life in 5 seconds (bad day part).
Focus chi has a 1 minute cooldown so when they blow that they lose a large portion of damage and can’t burst you down as quickly.
